The Next Cohort

The Next Cohort, 2024

The idea for this piece came to me after catching my first steelhead this past spring. The title, The Next Cohort is a reference to the next generation of steelhead, as depicted by the eggs floating and settled on the substrate in the piece, as well as a nod to the next generation of steelhead anglers. 

The Next Cohort is an original, one-of-one, hand burned piece by Abby Wynia. The piece features a hen steelhead (or, rainbow trout) tucked close to the bottom substrate among several floating and settled salmonid eggs.

• Finished with spar urethane to protect artwork from UV, moisture, water and dust
